OFFSHORE PLATFORM CONNECTIVITY, AN ENABLER FOR REMOTE OPERATIONS

ASN has a longstanding, industry leading, track-record of connecting remote offshore O&G platforms to shore with subsea optical fibre cable telecommunication systems. Those systems can either be dedicated cable infrastructures connecting one or several offshore O&G platforms, or shared infrastructure aggregating national or international telecommunication traffic with traffic to/from multiple offshore O&G platforms.

ASN has developed a large portfolio of field proven products and services for landing optical fibre cable into the oil field, achieved through subsea connection to UTAs or through static or dynamic risers to the platform. Such a portfolio range allows ASN to provide custom-tailored solutions capable of addressing the specifics of any offshore O&G platform, in both a timely and cost-effective manner.

VALUE FOR AN OPTICAL FIBRE CONNECTION

  • Unlimited bandwidth to shore
  • High reliability
  • High availability (weather independent & self-healing capability)
  • Low latency
  • Scalability : A single subsea optical fibre cable telecommunication system can connect multiple O&G platforms over 1000’s of km and can be expanded and upgraded in-service to connect new O&G platforms not present at Day 1
  • High availability (reliability grade inherited from submarine telecommunication technologies, self-healing capability and redundancy)

An optical fibre connection will then enable and facilitate remote operation, resulting in easier and immediate access to expertise on shore and reduced OPEX costs.
