Permanent Reservoir Monitoring (PRM) is the 4D seismic technology that produces the best quality and most repeatable seismic data quality. The high-quality seismic data obtained from a PRM system will allow to identify very small changes in seismic amplitude and/or travel time that result from changes in the reservoir and its contents, such as fluid type, saturation, and pressure.

Once processed, the data helps to produce detailed maps of underground geological structures and their evolution, allowing a better understanding of where new wells should be drilled to improve hydrocarbons recovery, the objective being fewer and better placed wells. As a result, the appropriate use of a PRM system will significantly increase recovery, production rates, and operational efficiency, and reduces reservoir management costs.

A PRM system with permanently installed sensors allows low cost repeat surveys (only shooting) as and when required. As such the total cost of ownership of a PRM system becomes very attractive after few surveys (typically 4 to 5), compared to other non-permanent 4D seismic techniques (streamer, OBC, OBN…).

Beyond 4D seismic application, a PRM infrastructure can also be valorized through passive seismic. Optical PRM sensors being permanent and always active, real time passive data collected can be used for various applications like micro-seismic, overburden monitoring, reservoir health monitoring, surrounding infrastructure health monitoring, environment monitoring…

ASN’s Permanent Reservoir Monitoring solution is based on fully passive subsea optical architecture and optical sensors, with no moving parts, no electronics and no requirement for subsea high voltage cables, hence enabling ASN to demonstrate outstanding field proven reliability on its PRM solution. ASN has demonstrated over recent successful projects execution having the expertise and industrial resources required for delivering turnkey PRM systems, operating as single EPCI contractor encompassing the design of a PRM layout optimized for the reservoir considered, the manufacturing, the marine installation and the commissioning phases.

President & CEO

Alain has been working for more than 25 years in telecoms, with Nortel, then Alcatel-Lucent / Nokia, holding management and leadership positions in R&D, Product Line, Industrial Operations, Sales & Marketing, Business Unit P&L accountability.

He brings to ASN his thorough knowledge of the telecoms industry, his extensive international management background with several postings overseas, and his field-proven customer-facing acumen.

Since 2016, as a Nokia executive, Alain has been Senior VP Customer Operations End2End and until now Senior Vice President in charge of Mobile Network business management.

Alain holds a degree in Information Technology from INSA, Rennes, France. He was also honored with the National Order of Merit in 2006 from the French Minister of Industry.
